Setting up a Squad server

Join your server

The first start downloads Squad from Steam, so it takes a few minutes. Watch the Console tab. When it stops scrolling, your server is ready.

In the game, open Server Browser, tick Show Unlicensed Servers, and search for your name.

The basic settings

Change these on the Startup tab, then restart.

Max PlayersUp to 100.
Reserved SlotsKept free for admins.

Admins

In SquadGame/ServerConfig/Admins.cfg, add:

Admins.cfg
Group=Admin:changemap,kick,ban,chat,reserve
Admin=YourSteamID64:Admin

Map rotation

List layers in SquadGame/ServerConfig/LayerRotation.cfg, one per line.

Problems

Not in the browser

Tick Show Unlicensed Servers.

Admin commands do not work

Check your Steam ID64 and restart.

Lag when full

Lower Max Players or move up a plan.
