Updated 4 Nov 2026

Join your server

The first start downloads 7 Days to Die from Steam, so it takes a few minutes. It is about 15 GB. Watch the Console tab. When it stops scrolling, your server is ready.

In the game, choose Join a Game, then Connect to IP. The address and port are at the top of your server page in the panel.

The basic settings

Change these on the Startup tab, then restart.

SettingWhat it does

  • ServerName: the name in the list.
  • ServerPassword: empty for public.
  • GameWorld: Navezgane or RWG for a random map.

Problems

Version mismatch when joining

Restart the server so it updates. Everyone must be on the same build.

It stops while making the world

The world is too big for the memory. Use a smaller WorldGenSize.

Lag on blood moon

Lower BloodMoonEnemyCount in serverconfig.xml.
