Setting up a FiveM server

Get a license key

  1. Go to portal.cfx.re and sign in.
  2. Register a server key with your server's address.
  3. Paste it into fivem license on the Startup tab.

Set it up with txAdmin

txAdmin is the easiest way. Set Enable txadmin to 1 and restart. The Console shows a PIN. Open your address with the txAdmin port from the Network tab and follow the steps.

The basic settings

Add resources

  1. Upload the resource folder to resources in the File Manager.
  2. Add ensure resource-name to server.cfg.
  3. Restart.
Only use resources you trust

Leaked scripts often hide backdoors.

Problems

License key invalid

Register the key for your server's address and copy it without spaces.

A resource does not start

Check the folder name matches the ensure line. Read the console.

I cannot open txAdmin

Use the txAdmin port from the Network tab.
