Passwords & logging in
You have two logins
PulsedMC has two separate places you sign in to, and each one has its own password. Most login trouble comes from mixing them up, so it is worth knowing which is which.
| Login | Address | What it is for | You sign in with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website account | pulsedmc.net | Buying and renewing plans, credits, billing, support tickets | Email and password, or Discord |
| Panel account | panel.pulsedmc.net | Running your server: console, files, plugins, backups, startup settings | Username or email, and your panel password |
Changing one password does not change the other. If you set a new website password, your panel password stays exactly as it was, and the reverse is also true.
Setting your panel password for the first time
Your panel account is created for you the first time you sign up or order a server. We never pick a password for you. Instead the panel sends you an email so you can choose your own.
- Look for an email from [email protected] titled Welcome to PulsedMC, set your password.
- Press the Set your password button in that email.
- Type your new password twice, once in New Password and once in Confirm New Password.
- Press Reset Password. You are signed straight in to the panel.
The email also shows your panel username. It is your Minecraft name in lower case, with any character other than a letter, number or underscore turned into an underscore. You never have to remember it, because the login box accepts your email address as well.
Minecraft name Steve-Builds Panel username steve_builds Also works [email protected]
If you open it later than that, or you already used it, the page says This link has expired or has already been used. Nothing is wrong with your account. Ask for a fresh link with Forgot password, as described in the next step.
Accounts made before 19 October 2026 were sent a password by email instead of a link. That password still works. If you would rather choose your own, use Forgot password to replace it.
Forgot your panel password
- Go to panel.pulsedmc.net and press Forgot password? above the password box.
- Enter the email address on your account and press Send Email.
- Open the email titled Reset your PulsedMC password and press Choose a new password.
- Enter your new password twice and press Reset Password.
After step 2 the panel always shows the same message, whether or not that email has an account: If an account uses that email, we have sent it a link to reset your password. This is on purpose. It means nobody can use the form to find out who has an account with us. If no email arrives, the address you typed is probably not the one on your account.
Your old password keeps working until the moment you set a new one. If you get a reset email you did not ask for, ignore it. Nothing changes unless someone presses the link and sets a new password, and the link only goes to your inbox.
Changing your panel password while signed in
If you know your current password and just want a different one, you do not need an email at all.
- In the panel, open Account.
- Under Update Password, enter your Current Password, then the new one twice.
- Press Update Password.
Changing your password here signs you out on every other device and browser. This is useful if you think someone else knows your old password, since it ends their session too.
Your website password
Your pulsedmc.net password is the one you typed when you created your account. If you signed up with Discord, you may not have one at all, and you just use Continue with Discord on the login page.
To change it, sign in, go to pulsedmc.net/account, and use the password section. It asks for your current password first.
After 10 wrong passwords in a row the website locks that account for 15 minutes. The panel also pauses sign-in for a short time after several wrong tries. If you hit either one, wait it out rather than guessing again.
Why we can never tell you your password
Neither site stores your password. When you set one, it is run through a one-way hash and only the result is saved. When you sign in, what you typed goes through the same hash and the two results are compared. There is no way to turn the stored result back into your password.
So nobody at PulsedMC can look up your password, and we will never email it to you. The only fix for a forgotten password is to set a new one.
Not in a ticket, not on Discord, not in game. We can do everything we need on your server without it. Anyone asking for it is not us, even if their name says PulsedMC.
In rare cases a staff member may set a temporary panel password for you through a support ticket. When that happens you get an email titled Your PulsedMC panel password was changed. Change it to one of your own as soon as you sign in.
Choosing a good password and turning on 2FA
The panel needs at least 8 characters. Longer is much better than complicated. A few random words strung together is easier to remember and harder to guess than a short string of symbols.
- Use a different password for the panel, the website and your Minecraft account.
- A password manager can create and remember them for you.
- Never reuse a password from a site that has been in a data leak.
For the strongest protection, turn on two-step verification in the panel under Account → Two-Step Verification. After that, signing in also needs a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Save the recovery codes it shows you somewhere safe. They are the only way in if you lose your phone.
If something isn't working
The email never arrived
Give it a few minutes, then check your spam and promotions folders for mail from [email protected]. Make sure you typed the same email you used to sign up or pay. If you paid with a different email than your account email, the panel account may be under the payment email. Still nothing after that? Open a ticket.
"This link has expired or has already been used"
The link is over 60 minutes old, you already used it, or you asked for a newer one since. Go to Forgot password? on the panel login page and ask for a fresh link, then use that one straight away.
My website password does not work on the panel
That is expected. They are two different accounts with two different passwords. Use Forgot password on the panel to set a panel password. You can make it the same as your website password if you like, though using a different one is safer.
I set a new password but the panel still says it is wrong
Check you are on panel.pulsedmc.net and not the website login. Then check the username: try your email address instead, since it always works. A password manager may also have filled in an old saved password over the one you typed.
I lost my phone and cannot get a 2FA code
Use one of the recovery codes you saved when you turned 2FA on. On the code screen, press I've Lost My Device and enter one there. If you have no recovery codes left, open a ticket from your website account and we will verify it is you before removing 2FA.
I got a reset email I did not ask for
Someone typed your email into the Forgot password form, often by mistake. Your password has not changed and will not unless the link is used. Ignore it. If it keeps happening, turn on 2FA and let us know.
